It was a gorgeous Sunday, sunny and bright, with a nice cool ocean breeze at Humarock Beach, in Marshfield, MA. Everyone gathered at the beautiful TradeWinds beach house for Mr. Cormay’s 90th surprise birthday party. Close friends and family mingled together, catching up with one another as they eagerly waited for Mr. Cormay’s arrival! He was in for a real treat because he had no idea what was planned for him, especially since his 90th birthday didn’t pass yet.
All throughout the beautiful house was pictures of Mr. Cormay through out the years of his long life. That had to be my favorite touch! I cannot imagine looking back on pictures over 90 years of my lifetime.
There were so many memories of him taken with all of his children and grandchildren by the beach. Humarock beach holds such a special place for so many people.
What a handsome man!
And of course all of the nautical decor was fitting for this special occasion!
Everyone hurried up inside as we were informed he was about to walk in! We all were super excited to see his reaction. He definitely was surprised and had no idea this celebration was planned!
So sweet as tears started to well up in his eyes. I loved watching his reaction… he was so touched to see everyone there.
Everyone greeted him with lots of love and hugs. So sweet seeing him with his granddaughter Ali.
Mr. Cormay (Bill) surrounded by his main lovely ladies! Family is everything.
Everyone seemed to love the stylish shoes Bill had on! He definitely knows how to dress well 🙂
Amazing to see all of these lovely memories that flooded the whole house. Many thanks for him serving our country in the Navy!
There is no denying his love for the Ocean and being at sea.
So grateful that my hubby and baby girl were able to be apart and celebrate!
Grandpa Bill with his beautiful grandchildren who live in Cali. Its amazing to believe that soon he is going to be blessed with a great grandchild!
I LOVE this cake! Can you believe that those starfish and shells are made out of chocolate?!
The party was catered by the classic Woodman‘s and the food was delicious!
Everyone came outside on the porch to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ and cut the yummy cake.
But beforehand, Bill had to share his heart and express his gratitude for everyone coming. There was such much love and laughter!
We gave him the honor of cutting the first piece of the cake!
Deb looking beautiful, always full of joy!
Grandma Deb loves her some Hope! It seemed everyone couldn’t get enough of her that day. Everyone loves babies! lol
Such a handsome little man.
Bill was enjoying one of his gifts! He loved his new chair…
Bill surrounded by his beautiful granddaughters! It’s because of them I’m one of his granddaughters too 😉 lol
I love these people! So grateful to have them all in my life.
Hope couldn’t hang for the whole party, she needed a nap lol…
We headed inside for a special explanation of the gifts given from Mr. Cormay’s neighbor that he has had for over 40+ years! Let’s just say Bill is a very resourceful man, who does not like to waste anything. So it was hilarious to listen to the explanation of all of the ‘gifts.’ lol
Aluminum foil can always be reused (haha) and I mean there is nothing wrong with a mustard stained book from the dump 😉
Who knew Keurig’s could be used more than once?! lol
Great job Lydia and family for putting together such a lovely celebration! I know your father appreciated it.
And of course I needed to get in on the love and give Grandpa some kisses! He definitely didn’t mind. haha
Well thank you Lydia for inviting me to be apart of capturing Grandpa Bill’s celebration!! It was such a beautiful time of being surrounded with great friends and family. I did not want to leave the beautiful ocean side. It’s amazing to see how strong-willed and courageous Grandpa still is at 90 years old. He is an inspiration to many and has definitely given me a picture of someone to aspire to be like.
When I asked Grandpa Cormay his advice and wisdom that he has obtained over the 90 years of life, he said, “no tattoos and don’t smoke.” LOL… Well I guess I’m doing pretty well in his eyes. That definitely gave me a good laugh! Let’s just say the over arching point of that advice is to take care of the one body you are given in order to help you stay strong and well! Being the health nut I am, I totally agree Gramps 😉 We all know that all of the fresh vegetables he eats from his garden are what have kept him strong and healthy.
Well ya’ll remember to love hard, laugh often, and celebrate others, it will make life that much more worth while!
Much Joy,
Charity HOPE
