It was an extremely, beautiful and warm day at Goddard Memorial State Park; where Emmetta + Wilmot decided to celebrate their love + “engagement.” There was no denying that we lived in New England, as we saw people sunbathing on the beach. I mean, who says you can’t have summer in October? 😉
Well it wasn’t just the sun that brought the heat, as there was no denying the love between these two. There was such a sense of security and peace about their relationship. This may be because these two are actually already married! Well, it will be two years in just a couple more weeks, since they tied the knot at their traditional, Liberian wedding. They are planning and preparing for the dream wedding they desired to finally have, in May of 2018.

Emmetta and Wil  met in Philadelphia where Emmetta used to formerly live. They were introduced to one another through Wilmot’s sister, and became great friends. They continued to build their relationship, + sweet friendship, by continually talking + spending time together. They built such an intimate connection through a deep sense of care and genuine friendship. It was on a typical evening in July where they were talking on the phone and Wilmot asked Emmetta to take their friendship to next level.

On Mother’s Day of 2015, it only seemed appropriate for Wilmot to ask the mother of his new baby boy,  if they could spend the rest of their lives together. With many tears of joy rolling down her face, she of course said, “yes!” Words couldn’t express how excited she was to get to marry her best friend. These two are beyond adorable together and their is no doubt the joy these two bring to one another.

Simply breathtaking.

I’m obsessed with their smiles, beyond contagious!

In love with special, serious moments being in black and white. 😍

Come one guys, y’all are too cute!!!

YESSS. African queen right here!

Ugh, I love this. Just look at the way they are looking at one another.

💕

We decided to take a little barefoot stroll along the beach, to relax, as our session was winding down.

So sweet!

Every girl wants her man to look at her like that! 😉

Emmetta, you know how to WORK girl! lol

I decided to save the best, little spot for last, as I brought them to the “storybook” tree. It is simply amazing, and was the most beautiful place for them to have a time to just stop and savor these moments together.

They are so stinkin’ cute!

And of course, I had to show their special t-shirts they had made for their save-the-dates!

May 2018 can’t come soon enough!!!

Emmetta + Wilmot, thank you so much for such a fun afternoon with you both! I loved getting to know you both more and your story. I’m so happy for you and your family. I know all of your hard work will pay off + your special day will be beautiful!!!

Much joy,

Charity HOPE
