The ocean breeze kicked in just in time for Lauren + John’s engagement session on Tuesday evening. They felt that the perfect place to capture would be in in Newport, RI. Salve Regina is where Lauren attended college + created so many amazing memories. Such a near + dear place to her heart.
Because it meant so much to her, it was also where John decided to propose to her! Just two days before Christmas, they were touring The Breakers-Newport Mansion, as it was beautifully decorated for the holidays.
They took the tour with two of their friends, but the nerves were real for John as he was trying to figure out the perfect place to ask her! He was a little on edge because where he desired to do the actual proposal wasn’t available for the public. Lauren could sense from the start of their evening that something was up!
As they were leaving the mansion, it was starting to rain and he had his friends distract her. As she turned around, he was on one knee!
John’s heart + intentions behind the whole proposal as he was explaining it to me, made me smile. You could just hear the sincerity + thought behind it all. He wanted everything to be perfect for her. And maybe to him, everything wasn’t exactly how he wanted, but I can tell that Lauren was not phased at all. She felt it could not have been more perfect + thoughtful!
These two will be getting married a year from today!!! They are so adorable together. These are just a little glimpse into how beautiful their wedding day pictures will be! 😍
We started their session down by the water, at the end of the Cliff Walk’s 40 Steps. A familiar place for Lauren + her friends use to go explore…
