It turned out to be a gorgeous day for a spring wedding, as Matt and Caroline finally were able to have the celebration of their dreams at The Commons 1854, in Topsfield, MA last Saturday. Their wedding was originally going to be in 2020, but as we all know, the pandemic had other plans for everyone’s lives. So the two secretly wed, and have been happily married ever since. It was important for them to finally gather all of their close loved ones to truly celebrate their union!
Caroline got ready in the bridal suite at The Commons, putting on her finishing touches with her Maid of Honor and her mother. Her bridesmaids were definitely the sweetest and couldn’t have been more excited to see her in her dress. Their reaction was priceless! Matt waited outside, under the arbor for their First Look and his face lit up as soon as he saw her.
They decided to exchange their vows privately and it was a beautiful, intimate moment between the two of them. Being able to hear their thoughtful words and sentiments to one another was really special and such an honor to witness. These two definitely were made for one another and have such a fantastic foundation of friendship.
After their bridal party joined them for some portraits, followed by their families, and it really was such a nice time of everyone mingling together. Then they tucked away inside before the guests arrived for the ceremony.
The ceremony was so special, especially since Caroline’s brother officiated the wedding and wow, it was amazing. His words were so intentional, heartfelt, and hilarious, all at the same time. Everything he shared fit perfectly and it was beautiful looking at all of the smiles on all the guests faces. Caroline’s father read advice and wisdom for the couple for having a long-lasting marriage. He really was reading from the wisdom he received from his parents. It was so beautiful. They exchanged rings, Matt broke the glass, and they sealed their wedding ceremony with a kiss!
They mingled with their guests throughout cocktail hour and enjoyed seeing everyone together. It was so special seeing the many generations of wedding photos that were displayed on the fireplace mantel. Truly amazing to see how far back in time they were able to go, it was really special to see vintage photographs.
Then, when it was time for the reception to begin, the bridal party got everyone ready, as they had so much fun while being introduced. Caroline and Matt walked in – going right into their First Dance as husband and wife. The dancing didn’t end there, as it was time for the Hora! All of their guests held hands and circled around them for the dance. It was so special, and the joy that was all around was tangible. They of course eventually were lifted up in the chairs, for the last few minutes of the dance, it was amazing!
Then they sat down for dinner, where Caroline’s father gave a heartfelt speech, followed by Matt’s Godmother. It was beautiful hearing such kind and amazing things they shared about them as a couple.
After the toasts, everyone finished up their dinner and was ready to party! Everyone danced the rest of the night away, having the time of their lives. It was such a joy to be able to watch them finally have the celebration they have been waiting such a long time for!
Caroline and Matt,
Thank you so much for having me photograph your beautiful celebration! Everything turned out so amazing and everyone had the time of their lives. You both are amazing and I feel so honored that our paths have crossed! I’m so looking forward to seeing all that’s in store for your future!
Much joy,
Charity Hope
