Bittersweet Farm Wedding: Sheleen & Mike

Weddings

It was a gorgeous, spring wedding day celebrating the love of Sheleen and Mike. At every location, there were so many trees in full bloom. Sheleen got ready with her bridesmaids at her sister-in-law’s home, where they shared champagne and many laughs. Mike got ready at his parent’s home, with a little assistance from their adorable pup, Yogi.

They decided to exchange vows at the St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, where they both did all of their sacraments there growing up. It was so unique and special that it happened to be at the same church, even though their families did not know of one another. The mass was extra special; there were scripture readings by close friends, and wise words shared by the priest. At the end of the ceremony, everyone’s hands were asked to be lifted toward them, as he shared a blessing over their marriage. As you looked around the room, so many tears were in everyone’s eyes.

They received so many hugs and well wishes after the ceremony. They took lots of portraits with their families and bridal party before heading to the reception venue at Bittersweet Farms in Westport, MA. It was the perfect setting and the place for the two of them to make memories with all of their loved ones. There were so many beautiful, special details throughout the reception space, especially honoring the loved ones who are no longer with them.

After taking a few more portraits at the venue, they went inside and did a very special grand entrance! Their bridal party was decked out in Bruins fan gear since they are big fans, and absolutely love enjoying going to Bruins hockey games together. It was such a fun way to start the evening, followed by lots of dancing!

They were surrounded by so many couples whose marriages have stood the test of time. It was a beautiful sight to witness and evidence that these two are around so many great examples of what unconditional love and commitment to one another look like. It was nothing short of a beautiful, special day.

The sweet moments getting ready with your girls are always the best. Beautiful details. Absolutely stunning.

There was a beautiful tree in full bloom where we took some portraits before the trolley arrived.

Springtime blooms couldn’t have been more perfect!

Mike getting ready and help from his dad, along with his pup, Yogi, was the sweetest.

Mike looked so sharp.

The cutest little scarf.

Yogi had to make a pit stop to see his mama as well before the ladies headed off to the ceremony!

They made it to the church where both, Sheleen & Mike, attended for all of their sacraments growing up.

Such a beautiful blessing was lifted and prayed over them by everyone.

The moment we all wait for!

Such timeless moments.

Such a fun and supportive bridal party. Everyone was so happy for them! Right outside the church, there were beautiful blooms to capture some family and bridal party portraits! Some private moments of just the two of them, before heading to the venue! After a great cocktail hour, enjoyed outside, they headed into Bittersweet Farm for their reception to begin. As true, die-hard Bruins fans, they had to make it known to their guests and made such a fun entrance!  Then they went right into their first dance as husband and wife.

There is just something about candid, real moments captured in the black and white that make your heart stop.

They made their way back to their seats, as the food was starting to be served, then the Matron of Honor and Best Man gave their heartfelt speeches.

After dinner, their guests were not shy of the dance floor. There were so many couples slow dancing together who have been married for such a long time. It was such a beautiful thing to witness.  Then they did their special parent dances! Sheleen’s father-daughter dance was so sweet. And Mike and his mom’s mother-son bond literally brings tears to your eyes. Then everyone joined them on the dance floor to celebrate the rest of the night! They snuck off for a private cake cutting and then partied the rest of the night away!

Sheleen & Mike,

Thank you so much for choosing me to document your special day! You two were certainly made for one another and it was such a privilege to see you two and your families come together. Everything turned out so beautifully, I’m so grateful to have met you both and can’t wait to see you grow your own family someday soon! Praying so many blessings over your marriage!!!

Much joy,

Charity Hope
