The Dennis Inn – Cape Cod Wedding: Samantha and Ted

Photography

It could not have been a more perfect day to be on the Cape, celebrating the love of Samantha and Ted, at The Dennis Inn! It was on this day, July 3rd, 5 years ago, where Ted picked up Samantha after they crossed paths by their family’s beach houses on the Cape, and they went out for their first date. With no obligations or places to be, they spent day and night together looking for fun. He took her to The Lost Dog Pub and they were inseparable for the rest of the summer! Unbeknownst to Ted and Samantha, their family’s summer homes were actually within 1 mile of each other. It was such an amazing summer, with days filled with so much fun on the beach, and many nights dancing under the stars. They were reckless and free. Before either of them realized what was happing, they were in love!

Four years later, on Wednesday July 3rd, 2019; Samantha and Ted were celebrating their anniversary by spending the day in Provincetown walking along Main Street and enjoying the beach. They spent the day enjoying yummy seafood and toasted to their relationship! They were driving back toward their houses in Dennis and they passed the beachcomber. The beachcomber was a place where they spent their 3rd date together and where they would spend a lot of time going to the beach together. It was so special  to them since they would watch so many sunsets together there, have fun, and dancing at the beachcomber bar with their friends.

Because they were going by the beachcomber, Ted asked if they should stop in to get a drink, while watching the sunset. They hiked up to their normal spot to watch the sunset and there happened to be another young couple there. They wanted to get a picture in front of the sunset, so they asked the couple to take a photo of them. As they began to pose in front of the sunset, Ted got down on one knee and said, “ Samantha since the moment i met you you’ve made me happier than i have ever been in my life and I can’t think of a better place to do this. Will you marry me?”

She of course said “yes!” And they hugged, kissed, and watched the sunset go down. They got in the car and Ted had to tell her that he did not have the opportunity to ask her parents permission yet. He figured it was ok and wanted them both to go to her house together to tell her parents, and then his. He was confident that they would be happy and she was too, but she was still nervous to tell them! They anxiously went inside to share the big news and walked in to a surprise party! Unbeknownst to her, it was all a set up, and he had already asked her parents and everyone was in on it. Samantha started crying and was so happy that both of their families were there to celebrate! That 4th of July weekend was spent calling all of their friends to tell them the exciting news, while continuing to hang out on the beach in Cape Cod where they fell in love.

Ted happened to be born in Washington DC and when he was going into 1st grade when his family moved to North Andover, MA. That year, he learned how to ski and fell in love with the sport. At age 10 he wanted to play in the terrain park and began snowboarding. He went to St. John’s prep and then attended Mcgill University in Montreal, Canada. After graduation he lived in British Columbia, working as an engineer, and would always snowboard at least twice week. After 3 years of living there and regularly skiing some of his favorite mountains (Whistler and Cypress), he had an accident while snowboarding, and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

After a year of recovering from a nearly life-ending accident, Ted decided it was time to travel the world.  He decided to go on a year long adventure to find out what life had to offer. He began on a road trip around America and visited over 20 states. Some friends and family joined him along the way. His final stop was at Dennis Cape Cod, MA at his family’s summer home.

Samantha grew up in Meriden, CT. She was an amazing competitive swimmer and when she was 5 years old, she told her parents she wanted to become a nurse. When Samantha began High School, her family moved to North Attleboro, MA. She continued to swim competitively and began to spend her summers at her family’s summer home in Dennis Cape Cod, MA. Samantha attended Rhode Island College (that’s where I met her!) and she continued to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse! She spent her summers in between semesters on the Cape with her family. After four years of studying her butt off in nursing school, Samantha was ready to have a carefree summer on Cape Cod.  That is the summer, that her and Ted’s paths crossed!

Samantha and Ted complement one another so well, both being very open and adventurous! They love going to the beach, snowboarding, kayaking, bike riding, dancing, traveling, and attending concerts. Their favorite trip they took together was to Santorini, Greece! Samantha loves how conscientious, thoughtful, and supportive he is. She admires how he is a dreamer, with a million ideas on how to improve himself and the world around him. She loves how supportive, motivating, and encouraging he is to everyone around him. And of course, she loves his eyes too! Ted absolutely adores Samantha (how can you not!). He loves how thoughtful, fun, caring, and loving she is! He admires how very athletic, motivated, persistent, and driven she is at accomplishing whatever she sets her mind too. Samantha is currently a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Ted is a real estate developer.

Even though these two will have a bigger celebration next year, where they will get to dance the night away like they dreamed to, they did not want to wait to become husband and wife! This small, intimate celebration turned out to be one of the most beautiful days, filled with so much love and laughter.

Samantha looked unbelievably gorgeous. Such a natural beauty!!!

We started the day at Cold Storage Beach where Samantha and Ted did a First Look, followed by portraits. It was the perfect place!

The sweetest First Look!

Being by the ocean was simply breathtaking.

Her yellow diamond ring was STUNNING! I’m in love.

Just perfect.

They made taking pictures look so effortless. It was so much fun!

Of course we had to get these two dancing!

OBSESSED.

The wind sometimes was in our favor. 😍

Samantha made sure to have at-least her family by her side!

They all looked so beautiful. In love with their dresses!

Her two Maid of Honors!

So in love.

Every boat that went by made sure to toot their horns. It was so much fun!

Ahhh, these two!!!

These two made the lifts and dips look so easy!!!

So beautiful.

In love.

Then we left the beach and headed to the church for the wedding ceremony!

This church is particularly special because it is the church that both of their parents attend. It was a beautiful service.

These daddy-daughter moments are so precious.

He made sure to give them marriage advice.

Such a sweet moment lighting the unity candle.

Officially Mr. and Mrs. !

Let’s just say, they were definitely excited!!!

I just adore them!

And they headed out of the church to go to the Dennis Inn to celebrate!

The Dennis Inn just reopened in time for them to have an intimate gathering to feed their guests. It is such a quaint little space, with amazing food!

Ted and his groomsmen looked so sharp!

Samantha and Ted snuck away for a few moments alone on the beautiful grounds.

They are too cute!

Samantha was pretty excited that her dress had pockets and I was too!!!

All of the food was absolutely delicious!

It then became time for the speeches.

Ted’s brothers sure knew how to make us laugh, but also, made it hard not to cry!

Everyone shared such kind and sweet words about them.

Samantha’s sister gave the final speech and definitely got us choked up, especially their dad.

After dinner was served, it was time for them to cut the cake!!!

It looked and tasted amazing!

They made sure to do a mother-son dance, and father-daughter dance. It was the sweetest!

Then they had their first official dance as husband and wife to end the evening!

They’re so cute together.

Finished with a dip kiss!!!

Samantha and Ted,
