Regatta Place, Newport Wedding: Marisa and Chris

Photography

It was the perfect summer wedding day in Newport, Rhode Island celebrating Marisa and Chris’s union last Saturday at Regatta Place! They could not have put together a better celebration, shared with all of their loved ones from near and far. They both got ready in different nearby hotels with their bridal party. There were so many laughs, shots taken and dancing with their closest friends. The bridesmaids and groomsmen each practiced the choreographed dance they made that they would perform at their entrance to the reception, allowing the guests to decide which dance was best. Marisa and Chris each exchanged sweet notes and gifts while they were getting ready. Marisa even was surprised to find an extra love note written on the bottom of her wedding shoe! Her mother helped button up the final buttons on her wedding dress and she put on her final touches before she did a ‘first look’ with her Dad. His reaction was the absolute sweetest and they both exchange many tears together. She even gifted him a personalized handkerchief with a sentimental note she wrote that was embroidered on it.  The bridal party all hoped in the party bus and headed over the Newport bridge to Jamestown to do their first look and portraits at Beavertail State Park.

You could see in Chris’s smile how beyond gorgeous Marisa looked when he saw her for the first time! They both looked so amazing together and couldn’t stop smiling. Their whole bridal party was so much fun and was such a dream to work with. And when it was time to head to Regatta Place, Marisa and Chris snuck down to the rocks to capture some intimate portraits of just the two of them by the ocean before the rest of the wedding festivities began. They had a load of fun riding back in the party bus with their bridal party and then Marisa and her bridesmaids were tucked away to the bridal suite as their guests started to arrive for the ceremony. The white, soft linen, coming down from the ceremony tent was so gorgeous as it blew in the wind. The light, bright, ceremony space, with the arbor that was decorated beautifully with florals, was absolutely stunning. Being right on the dock, looking out to Newport Harbor brought such a serene and calm feel.

Chris and his groomsmen headed down the aisle, followed by the bridesmaids. We all eagerly waited for the doors to open to see Marisa with her father. Even though Chris already saw her prior to the ceremony, his eyes were still tearing up watching her walk down the aisle with her arm intertwined with her dad’s. There is just something extra special seeing all of your loved ones, standing up and watching the bride as she walks down the aisle. Words can not articulate this moment. Their love story was told, tears were shed, vows and rings were exchanged, as well as a sand ceremony was witnessed, representing their two lives now intertwined as one. Their kiss sealed the celebration and their big smiles said it all as they walked up the aisle for the first time together as Mr. and Mrs. Tagliatela!

They were greeted with drinks and they exchanged so many hugs from their guests. They did a few more portraits with some family members and the bridal party and went right back to mingling with all of their guests. There were so many beautiful details in the courtyard for guests to see, including an amazing cigar table, as well as a table sharing framed images of their loved ones that passed that they wish could have been there. Between the gorgeous view of Goat Island Marina, the open bar, complimentary cigars, and tasty appetizers, their guests were having an amazing time.

When it became time for their reception to start, the bridesmaids and groomsmen were lined up, ready for their performances. The ladies went first, bringing all the energy as they came out to “Run the World” by Beyonce! They definitely killed their routine, setting the expectation high for the groomsmen. With headsets on, the groomsmen lined up for their performance of Nsync, “Bye Bye Bye.” They for sure made the crowd laugh as they were definitely not in sync. And it was a consensus decision that the bridesmaids won that battle! Marisa & Chris made their grand entrance to “Shots” by LMFAO ft. Lil Jon and had their whole bridal party join them on the dance floor as they took a shot all together! Things simmered down as they went into their first dance together as husband and wife. This was extra special as they danced on the clouds, as fog went all around them.

As everyone got settled back down and salads were served, the Best Man (Chris’s brother) and Matron of Honor (Marisa’s childhood best friend) gave their speeches. There is no doubt how much love they have for the couple and how many fun memories they shared growing up together. They both gave amazing speeches and toasted to the Bride and Groom’s, undoubted special love! After dinner was served, Marisa and Chris cut their cake and went right into the parent special dances. These are always the sweetest, bringing tears to everyone’s eyes. After these precious moments were over, it was time to party! The DJ served their guests well and the dance floor was open the rest of the night. Marisa and Chris snuck out one more quiet moment on the dock as the sun was setting and they partied the rest of the night away. Between the yummy desserts, open boxes of cigars, glow sticks, everyone was having the time of their lives.

Saturday night was a night I don’t think Marisa and Chris, nor their friends and family will ever forget! After such a hard year in 2020, this was the perfect celebration and gathering that everyone needed. So excited to share an overview of their perfect day.

Such a special tough of personalizing her bridesmaid’s hangers.

Such beautiful details!

Such beautiful details.

Such a fun group of ladies by her side.

The opening of her gift from Chris. It was beautiful.

The sweetest surprise was written on the bottom of her shoe.

Beautiful.

Chris opened his gift while he was getting ready as well.

Time for her to put on her gorgeous dress.

Mom finished up her buttons on her dress, getting her ready for her first look with Dad.

So many tears were shed between her Dad and her as he saw her for the first time. Anyone watching couldn’t hold back tears!

Then the bridal party headed out to Beavertail State Park for their First Look!

They both looked absolutely amazing! That smile says it all!

Guests were coming in for the ceremony and Chris was getting ready, eagerly waiting to marry his bride!

The ceremony site was so gorgeous.

This moment is always so beautiful.

There were so many laughs and smiles through out their whole ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Tagliatela!

Hugs and drinks were given, as these two were congratulated by so many loved ones.

The bridal party looked so good and gathered for some more portraits together!

Such a fun group!

Welcome to the married club!  The cigar station was such a great touch for their guests. I’m pretty sure this was Chris’s favorite table.

We can’t forget the groomsmen’s sock with Chris’s face on them with a cigar in his mouth! haha.

Cocktail hour was coming to an end and it was time for the reception to begin!

Everything was decorated so beautifully.

There were even flipflop boxes for their guests to grab a pair when it came time for dancing.

Marisa’s bridesmaids did such an amazing job doing their choreographed dance! They definitely brought the energy and excitement.

And the groomsmen definitely brought the laughs as their not so synchronized dance to Nsync needed a little more practice. They put in that effort though!

Marisa and Chris joined the dance floor and the bridal party all shared a shot.

Then they went right into their first dance as husband and wife, dancing on the clouds.

Then they were seated at their sweetheart table for The Best Man and Matron of Honor speeches.

They both did an amazing job and shared so sweet memories with everyone.

M & C snuck out for a moment alone while everyone was still eating to be out on the dock as the sun had set, overlooking the beautiful Newport marina.

After dinner was served, they opened up the dance floor for their special parent dances.

So beautiful.

The dance floor was open right after they cut the cake!

And everyone danced the  rest of the night away!

It was an amazing time!

All of the best desserts and cannolis were served to end the night.

It was a night no one could ever forget!
